Plain Jane CBD vs Partnered Process CBD

Published:

In this article, we conduct a comparison of two popular CBD brands, Plain Jane CBD and Partnered Process CBD. Read on to learn which is the better choice.

While the legalization of marijuana for recreational use in many parts of the United States continues to dominate headlines, the popularity of other cannabis-related products used as health supplements continues to grow.

These products are made from the hemp plant and contain substantial amounts of cannabidiol (CBD), which is believed to offer many psychological and physical benefits. These formulations have only trace amounts of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the ingredient that gives marijuana its psychoactive potency, and that makes a big difference in some state laws.

Morning Consult, a marketing research company, conducted a survey showing that a third of all adults in the U.S. have experimented with gummies, oils, tinctures, and other forms of CBD.

The study revealed even greater popularity with younger adults; specifically, more than half of all millennials have tried one of these products. Most of them said their goals were reducing anxiety, improving sleep, and offsetting symptoms of depression – all of which are among the purported benefits of CBD.

The World Health Organization conducted a major study of CBD and reported that it “exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential.” The study recommends that CBD should not be regulated as a dangerous drug because “there is no evidence of public health-related problems associated with the use of pure CBD.”

All of this attention has brought hundreds of new products to the marketplace in recent years. This article compares two popular brands – Plain Jane CBD and Partnered Process CBD – and recommends the manufacturer offering the better products and value.

Plain Jane CBD vs. Partnered Process CBD:

Company philosophy

The growth of the CBD market has paralleled the increasing popularity of all-natural and organically farmed products in the health supplement industry.

Many consumers looking to improve their health are also adamant about protecting the health of the environment when deciding which products to buy. Both Plain Jane and Partnered Process stress the use of sustainable techniques throughout the production process.

Partnered Process certifies that all of its products are made from hemp plants grown by U.S. farmers who use environmentally sound practices to guarantee sustainability.

To ensure consistency in its operation, the company has developed clones of a specific type of hemp plant from Colorado and shipped those plants to its partnered farm, Turtle Creek Gardens, in Delavan, Wisconsin.

This local farm produces certified-organic industrial hemp that is harvested on-site and processed in the company’s Waukesha, Wisconsin, plant – an extraction facility designed and built from the ground up to ensure that its CBD products are organically pure and safe for consumers.

Plain Jane also stresses its all-natural approach to the growth and processing of its products. The company is located in southern Oregon and is licensed by the Oregon Department of Agriculture.

All of its CBD flowers are sourced from small American family farms and feature more than 20 hemp plant strains.

Forms

One of the most important questions consumers ask is what form of CBD product works best for them. There are many options for consuming the active ingredient ranging from pills to oils to gummies.

Partnered Process offers a good variety of these products, including fast-disintegrating tablets, mints, tinctures, gummies, and oils. The company says its oil form is more efficiently absorbed than many other forms and produces fewer negative reactions.

Partnered Process also offers hemp plants that can be smoked in cigarette form or in pipes. Some users prefer this method because it can deliver more of the CBD directly into the bloodstream.

According to the Partnered Process website, oral consumption delivers only about 15 percent of the active ingredient because the rest is metabolized by the liver. The inhaled form of CBD delivers 60 percent.

While Plain Jane does offer a line of CBD gummies, tinctures, and oils, it specializes in hemp products that can be smoked or used in vape pods.

The company says it created the first low-smell CBD cigarette using a water-curing process that removes the traditional cannabis odor. The results are hemp cigarettes with no tobacco and zero nicotine.

Price and value

While differences in the forms of hemp products offered by these two companies make a direct price comparison very difficult, one thing is clear: both companies are producing and selling premium products. Both emphasize quality ingredients and processing over cost-cutting measures.

Partnered Process sells its hemp products in portions of a pound, with one pound going from $500 to $600. Plain Jane sells the flowers of the hemp products by the ounce, with one ounce costing as much as $48 – or $768 per pound.

In the category of edible products, a small bag of five gummies can cost as little as $9 from Plain Jane, but the company says the potency of these consumables is much lower than that of the hemp flower.

For example, the gummies contain 0.57 percent CBD, while the small hemp buds contain 3.37 percent of the active ingredient. Partnered Process offers a better bargain, with a bag of seven gummies going for $8. It also offers a wider array of edible products and an entire line of lotions, body oils, and skin moisturizers intended for topical use.

Plain Jane CBD vs. Partnered Process CBD:

The bottom line

Because both companies emphasize environmentally friendly farming and processing of high-quality ingredients, Plain Jane CBD and Partnered Process CBD are at the top of the list of manufacturers that consumers should consider if they are interested in these products.

Based on the wider selection of edible and topical products it offers, the rigorous third-party lab testing of potency and purity, and the close working relationship with the Wisconsin farmers who grow and harvest their raw materials, Partnered Process is the company consumers should think of first.
